January 2004 was denied speech therapy services for my son through Kaiser Permanente determining it was not medically necessary.
Appealed the denial and participated in a Kaiser Board of Review.
Successfully resolved my case with Kaiser reversing their decision.
Received speech therapy services until February 2006 when my son was discharged from medically necessary services.

February 2002 was denied Speech Therapy services for my son through PacifiCare/John Muir Medical Center determining it was not medically necessary.
June 2002 appealed denial through the Department of Managed Health Care, government office.
Requested an Independent Medical Review. Supplied the DMHC organization with all documentation necessary for review of the case. The DMHC overturned the decision for authorization and coverage of speech therapy services. Received speech therapy services through PacifiCare, JMMC and Hill Physicians Medical Group.
